Gentlemen, this is going to be a guide teling you how to make money online. I haven’t posted on the Art of Selfhood for a while. That’s because I’ve been travelling a lot recently and launching several new ventures.
I spent 10 days in Indonesia on Java and Bali enjoying paradise, and a week in Manila, The Philippines taking care of business. So how did I do this while supporting my family at the same time? Don’t I have a job to go to and a boss to answer to?
Let me explain…
Many people have the dream of making money online from their laptops and living a location independent life.
As men, we hate to be tied down. It’s natural. We were born to kill saber tooths and roam the forest, eating, adventuring and sleeping where we found ourselves that night with our tribe.
Modern society has us all mixed up. We’re led to believe that sitting in an office cubicle for 8-10 hours per day, fighting through traffic to get home to a house we’re going to be making payments on until we’re 60, to a wife that nags us, complains and has the sex drive of a 50-year-old embalmed corpse is supposed to make us happy.
I’m calling BS. I’ve lived that life, and it’s a recipe for mental illness and desperation.
Yet, there is a way out for those who have the balls to look life in the face and say ‘This isn’t good enough’.
Thanks to the power of the internet, which connects virtually every person in the civilised world, you can now live that old way of life again. Life has come full circle. The enslavement of man is coming to an end, and you get to be the first generation in modern human history to taste absolute freedom once again.
How? I can hear your mind scream out while you dream, thinking of adventure, beautiful women and tropical sunsets.
By learning how to make money online, that’s how!
How I Learned How to Make Money Online
I’ve always used the internet ever since I was a kid. I grew up with it. My generation is probably the first to experience a world where we don’t know what it’s like to not have the internet. It’s easy to take this tool for granted and underestimate it’s potential, wasting away our days on social media and jacking off to girls you’ll never even have the guts to look in the eye while she gets pounded by a muscular man you wish you were.
Yet, the internet can be so much more.
All of my life has been a quest for freedom, well, since as long as I’ve been able to think, anyway. I walked right out of a college classroom at age 17 and never went back, the thought of a mortgage, a marriage and a burdensome, miserable life driving me to the point where I would rather risk my life and throw caution to the wind than live it.
I tried a whole lot of different options to escape this trap. I went bar-tending in the Canary Islands, backpacking in Australia where I picked up casual labour as I went, teaching English in Asia where I at least had the option of taking 3-4 months off between contracts before getting back to work, and then finally working offshore on oil and gas platforms, where I had one month on, one month off, and plenty of cash to enjoy traveling.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but looking back now I can see that I was progressing along a path to greater and greater freedom. You see, restrictions literally cause me to have an anxiety attack. When I hit a limit and encounter something which hinders my freedom, I HAVE to find a way to bust out, or I lose my mind.
That’s because freedom is my highest value. That’s just the way I am.
Anyway, I eventually was forced out of oil and gas by the recent price crash. I’d made a couple of decisions such as to move to the back of beyond to a tiny little tropical island in the Philippines with an economy about the size of a single street in London, and I’d decided to have a son with my beautiful wife, too.
So, for lack of a better term, I was headed for potential deep crap, and I needed to find a way to solve the situation, fast.
It didn’t take me long. I quickly realized that the entire 15 years of my existence, questing for that freedom I so badly craved, I had held the keys to freedom at my fingertips the whole damned time! Can you believe it? Here I was plodding around the world on an epic adventure, searching for this elusive freedom from the drudgery of a shitty job, when I eventually find it and realize I had it the whole time right in front of my damned eyes! Just like that book, the Alchemist.
So here I am. I’ve found the keys to ultimate freedom, and I am living the dream I have always dreamed of. As I write this very post, in fact, I am on my balcony, basking in the sun, in my hammock. After I post I’ll probably have a cup of coffee and go for a walk, then do a little work when I feel ready.
So how do I do it? I make money online, fellas! It’s as simple as that. I learned how to make money on the internet because I HAD TO when my back was against the wall, and I realized after I learned it that it was the key to everything I had been searching for my entire life.
I know what you’re wondering next….how do I make this money online, and how can you do the same?
How to Make Money Online (Actually)
The first thing I’m going to tell you is that the world of making money online is full of sharks, snakes and predators who are going to attempt to extract money from your wallet and deliver you a piece of junk system that doesn’t work. I can guarantee you that right now, and a quick Google search will confirm it. For just $1000, they’ll tell you the secret to unlimited online income while lying in a hammock playing with your nut sack.
Lies. Lies. Damned Lies!
There is no magical system. There is no free ride. There is no way to sit in a hammock and watch tens of thousands of dollars pour in. It’s all BS designed to dupe gullible and lazy fools. Don’t be one of them.
The true secret to making money on the internet is to actually work online. Work generally means delivering something of value to a customer or client in exchange for compensation. That could be designing a website, writing sales copy, answering telephone calls to serve their customers, selling products for them, or helping old Jamima down the block to load WordPress and put up photos and blog posts about her 27 cats so she can make an income selling books on how to groom them.
All of these are legitimate online opportunities, and you learn to spot them because nobody is charging you huge fees to join the club. Just like in the real world, where you don’t pay to get a job, in the online world you don’t pay through the nose for an opportunity either. You simply bring your skills to the table, connect with buyers, and trade those skills for pieces of paper called money which you can then use to extract value from other members of the community, or in this case, other members of the world since the internet has no limit to its reach.
The online economy is absolutely colossal. On one site I use personally there are over 3000 new jobs posted per day. About 1000 people join that site per month, so you can do the math and figure out that supply of talent is never, ever going to be able to meet demand. There is literally endless work available, especially when you consider that a good 80% of the people who join such sites are A) Nimrods or B) Don’t have the will to make it, just like in the real world.
That gives you, man of perseverance and will, a big edge. Suddenly, not lying in a hammock in Thailand doing nothing, but lying in a hammock in Thailand building a website for someone in New York, becomes a real and distinct possibility.
Making Money Online is as Real as it Gets
I personally can clear $20-$25 per hour on average by working online. That’s not Donald Trump money, but I do what I enjoy doing and for guys like me who live in South East Asia, where the average salary is about $200 a month, making $100-$150 a day from your laptop is top dollar and enough to live a more than comfortable existence.
If I went all in and bust my nuts, I am certain I could double that number. I’d be brain-dead and drained, though, and since that’s exactly what I set out to avoid in the first place, it doesn’t make any sense to me to go that road. I work a few hours, take a long break and play with my son or go for a drive or hit the gym, then do a couple more hours, before having dinner and maybe catching a movie or going to the gym. It’s a good life.
And it’s real. It’s as real as it gets. It’s actually more real than any other job I ever held since I create something and hand it over directly for real money, rather than being disconnected from the creative process by working in some messed up middle position where the guy about me gets all the credit and most of the money for what I work hard to create or produce. I simply take a blank page, create something awesome, hand it over, and get paid there and then.
Getting paid per result is also deeply motivating, since it drives you to work harder and produce more, rather than schlep around and stand by a water-cooler pretending to look busy while your soul disintegrates inside your body and you beg the gods of mercy to fast forward to the weekend.
Another thing I love about this working from home or working online or whatever you desire to call it, is the fact that I am in control. If I don’t want to work so hard that day, I don’t. If I get inspired I can go twice as hard and make twice the cash. If I can’t sleep until 3am I don’t worry about the fact that I have to get up in a few hours, because I don’t. I just sleep in a little longer and work later that day to catch up.
Lastly, I get to fire people I don’t like. I always finish jobs on demand for my clients because that’s what a pro does, but if I don’t like them I’m not obligated to work with them a single minute longer than the end of the project. I can even tell them “I don’t like you”, and be just fine, because I have as many other clients as I could possibly serve in a hundred years waiting to work with me. The demand for what I do online is absolutely endless, unlike the jobs a my local job centre back in the day which consisted of a few hundred crappy options such as working in a quarry blowing up rocks or cold calling American CEO’s to ask their opinion on bullshit trends that magazines wanted to write about.
So that’s it. That’s how it goes and that’s what making money online can do for you. I highly recommend you take my Keys to Freedom course, and I will show you in detail, every step of the way, what to do to start making a real living on the internet. And, I’ll provide all the evidence you need to see it’s legit and real, and not some BS scam dreamed up by a fly-by-night marketer.
Are you ready to be free for the rest of your life? Making money online can help you live that dream, or at least take a step in the right direction.
Sound good? Thought so! Let’s get to work….
Desire. Decide. Persist.
